I'm really delighted to have been selected for a four month Artists Residency funded by Creative Scotland to develop designs for public art interventions for this new 14 hectare park in the east end of Glasgow. The park is part of the Commonwealth Games Legacy and will be linked with a new bridge to the new Athletes Village now under construction. It's fantastic to be involved in this project and I have started researching for the project.

Design approved for new courtyard sculpture for Wishaw Health Centre, informed by discussions with local groups and a series of art workshops with pupils from Wishaw Academy Primary School.
The sculpture represents aspects of the industrial heritage of the area, in particular the strip steel industry. The coiled steel sections emerge from the ground and slowly transform, morphing as they ascend into organic forms. This flowing transition represents the changes that have taken place in the area in recent times and conveys the physical and emotional sense of wellbeing, being unburned and free to drift beyond the confines and constraints of a physical space.
Work has now commenced on the sculpture and will be installed in the new purpose built building in early August 2015

New sculpture selected for Oatlands in the south side of Glasgow.
The new sculpture ' Oatlands girl ' will be located on the Clyde Gateway. The sculpture represents the on-going re-generation of Oatlands. Aspects of the design relate to the social heritage of Oatlands, with references to past landmarks and fond memories from local residents. Rob and his team spent several months developing and delivering an arts programme with three local schools which resulted in an outdoor digital artshow. The images created for the art-show by the school children are incorporated in the 'Oatlands Girl' sculpture.
